Echo wins double gold at Digital Impact Awards

Global reputation and communications research firm, Echo Research, won double gold for ‘best use of digital for public sector’ and ‘best use of digital for general industrial’ for their work with the Liberal Democratic Party and Syngenta at Communicate Magazine’s Digital Impact Awards. The ceremony, held at the Tabernacle in Notting Hill, recognised excellence in digital stakeholder communications.

Supporting the Liberal Democratic Party in their 2010 UK General Election campaign Echo provided ongoing, daily evidence of the battle for the UK electorate’s hearts and minds. Analysing over 18,000 online articles, 6,000 social media posts a day together with conducting a significant poll among the electorate, they highlighted the power and trust of TV and social media – changing the landscape of political campaigning and communication forever. Echo’s support helped to encourage greater media effectiveness and social media engagement to drive the country’s awareness and support for the Party pre-Election, and now, within the new Coalition Government.

Working with Syngenta AG, a world-leading agribusiness company, dedicated to the purpose of bringing plant potential to life. Echo Research was commissioned by Syngenta to draw up a ‘Contacts Book’ of leading influencers of sentiment towards the company within the online community, both Web 1.0 and Web 2.0, to enable Syngenta to engage, build relationships and themselves become ’architects of conversations’. “We have integrated Echo’s ‘E-Opinion-Former List;’ into our overall search database. We aim to continuously refine and refocus this list to some 75 hot key authors, with whom we’ll start to actively engage with.  Echo’s hugely informative and rich process has accelerated our thinking around the strategy and resources required to embrace this systematically as we move forward.” Médard Schoenmaeckers, Head of Syngenta External Communications.

Said Gemma Plant, Head of Echo Sonar, Echo Research's digital division: "We are delighted to accept these awards in partnership with the Lib Dem’s and Syngenta.
